On the morning of July 3, 2025, at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), a large number of high school students and university students interested in the field of communication had the chance to attend the open lecture titled “Media Matters – Communicating in Times of Change” by Professor Kevin Sanson, Head of the School of Communication at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), a top-ranked university in communication education in Australia.

The lecture provided a realistic and profound perspective on the role of communication in modern society, where AI, social media, and influencers are "rewriting" how people connect, express, and receive information. Professor Kevin Sanson not only discussed academic concepts but also addressed questions that many young people often wonder, such as: “What is communication and interaction?”, “What are the key questions in the field of communication and interaction?”

“Communication is not just a tool for transmitting information, but a bridge to form and maintain relationships between people in society.” – Professor Kevin Sanson.
Professor Sanson pointed out that, in the digital age, new technologies have changed the way we interact and highlighted the role of influencers in shaping opinions and conveying information. “Social media and influencers are not just content creators; they also have a significant influence on how we perceive and act upon information.” – Professor Kevin Sanson.
Throughout the lecture, students actively participated in discussions and in-depth analysis of content creators they follow. They were asked to clearly identify the operating models, assess the value of the content provided by these creators, and analyze why their content attracts and engages the audience.

International Learning Opportunities with the Joint Training Program
n addition, the lecture was an opportunity for high school students to learn more about the joint training program between PTIT and QUT. This is one of the leading international study opportunities in the Multimedia Communication field in Vietnam. The program not only provides young people with access to an international learning environment but also equips them with essential skills such as critical thinking, media communication skills, and personal branding from an early stage – key elements for future “Marketers”.
